In Kadence, the clean “do it once” solution is to stop Kadence from auto-inserting the Featured Image on single posts—because your posts already include the image inside the content.

Global fix (recommended): Turn off Featured Image display on Single Posts

This removes the automatic featured image that Kadence is placing before/around the title, while your Featured Image still remains set for archives/cards.

  1. WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Customize
  2. Posts/Pages Layout → Single Post Layout
  3. Find Show Featured Image and toggle it OFF
  4. Publish the Customizer changes

Kadence’s own Single Post Layout settings include a Show Featured Image toggle specifically for enabling/disabling the featured image on single posts.

Why this still keeps images on your blog homepage/sections

Turning off “Show Featured Image” in Single Post Layout affects only the single post view. Your posts will still have a Featured Image assigned, which is what your blog feed/sections use for thumbnails/cards.

Make sure your blog feed/sections still show images (quick check)

If you ever need to verify the archive/listing settings:

  • Appearance → Customize → Posts/Pages Layout → Archive/Blog Posts (or Blog Layout/Archive Layout)
  • Confirm Featured Image is enabled for the archive/cards view (this area controls the listing pages, not the single post page).
  • Very important: Add your image below the article title and set the same image as feature image. Now your image will still show appear on your homepage/blog feed/sections/cards and on the single post page. The  image only show once (not twice).

Issues like duplicated featured images often happen when the proper WordPress blog setup steps are skipped during installation.
